For a returning client, The Sycamore Collective design team created an ADU in West Hollywood California.
The brief was exciting: add an additional, beautiful enteraintment space behind the existing house that would combine the clients love of entertaining with some functional needs. It would compliment and extend the living area of the main house while housing a parking garage, an additional bedroom, cooking space, bathroom and ample entertainment area, both inside and out. The pool and exterior living areas were also included in the project.
The ground level features a full width opening glass door blending the inside and out - taking full advantage of the Southern California climate. The client and his guests can lounge by the pool or warm some snacks in the fully integrated cooking counter. Concealed laundry and a full bathroom finish out the functionality of this space.
The upstairs contains a sleeping loft, exercise space, ample bespoke storage as well as a patio to take full advantage of the sunset views.
Outdoor living
The pool deck connects the front main house with the pool-house. It can be used year round with the inclusion of some practical elements like overhead integrated heaters and a covered patio for those rare times when it rains in LA.
